Did K-Fed degrade the fast food profession?

A leading restaurant association has called for the
cancellation of a SuperBowl TV commercial featuring
Britney Spears'ex Kevin Federline, as a failed rap star
now working at a fast-food restaurant .

In a 30-second ad for Nationwide Insurance, Federline
is shown dreaming he is a rap star but then snaps out
of it to face reality -- he's working at a burger
restaurant.

"An ad such as this would be a strong and a direct
insult to the 12.8 million Americans who work in the
restaurant industry," wrote Anderson, head of the
association that represents 935,000 U.S. restaurants.
"Developing creative concepts that accomplish the
marketing strategies for a product should not require
denigrating another industry."

What are your thoughts on this commercial denigrating
the fast-food industry?

Personally I would say this is the stupidity of an ingrate like K-fed for agreeing to something that makes him look stupid. Obviously he's willing to put himself down for the money, and the people watching the commercial will be poking fun at him than anything to do with the fast-food industry. Hell some little 14 year old girls might go to more fast-food places if they have hopes of seeing k-fed there.

Sorry Sudzy I think you are missing the point (just my opinion).

Sounds like this is a denigration of all those folks working in the fast food industry.

This is the same insensitivity as shown by phrases like "he robbed me blind" "I'm blind to her falts" and so on.

hmm, I thnk that perhaps it is degrading one industry for the benefit of another, but I also think that it is only being used to illustrate the fact that we dont' often find ourselves where we want to be, and finally, people are probably a bit more sensative about it than they would have been in the past since political correctness came into it. Bob I personally don't find such statements as thoughs you pointed out offencive, and think people are just being to sensative about such things. wasn't there a post on here a while back about a similar concept but more aimed at blindness? does anyone know waht I am talking about?
